U is for Uniforms

For many Royal events people who take part wear uniforms. Many of these outfits are very bright and decorative, and date back hundreds of years. Some of the most famous uniforms are worn by the Guards who keep watch at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and other Royal buildings. The Guardsmen wear bright red jackets and tall furry hats which are called 'bearskins'. In winter, the Guardsmen wear long grey coats to keep them warm.
