Commemorative monuments incorporate some of the most original designs. This monument was designed by the architect Thomas Harrison to commemorate George III's Golden Jubilee in 1810. It was erected at Moel Famau in Denbighshire, the highest peak of the Clwydian Range. In 1862 the monument, 150 feet high by 60 feet in diameter, and in a summary 'Egyptian' style, suffered severe storm damage. Only its base survives today.
