Fan given to Queen Victoria by Empress Eugenie

This fan was given to Queen Victoria by the Empress Eugénie as a memento of the visit to France in 1855. In the centre are oval portraits of Napoleon III and Eugénie, below the imperial eagle. At the right is the Château de St Cloud, where the royal party stayed throughout the visit. At the left is a view of Versailles. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert paid a number of visits to Versailles and Paris in the course of their stay in France.
