Letter from Queen Victoria to King Louis-Philippe

Following the successful conclusion of the visit of King Louis-Philippe to Queen Victoria at Windsor, the Queen wrote in French to Louis-Philippe to express her delight at the success of the visit, and her hope that the entente cordiale between their two countries might be as good as that which existed between the two Sovereigns. This is the Queen's autograph draft of the letter, dated 17 October 1844. Read the transcript of this letter (in French).
