Q: Muhammad Naseer - Pakistan
I want to visit the tomb of Her Majesty The Queen Mother. Please help me in this regard.

Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother is buried with her husband, King George VI, in the King George VI chapel, which is located within St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. Visitors to the castle are able to see the grave, which is marked with the names King George VI and Elizabeth. View opening times.

Q: Danielle - Australia
What is the correct form of address for a Dowager Queen? Your Grace? Your Highness?

The correct form of address to a Dowager Queen is 'Your Majesty'; this recognises the fact that the widowed queen was crowned as such. For example, while King George VI was still alive, the late Queen Mother was styled 'Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth'. After his death, she was styled 'Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother'.

Why don't the sons and daughters of the current Dukes of Kent and Gloucester have the titles "Prince" and "Princess"? Is it because they are no longer part of the Royal Family?

The sons and daughters of the current Dukes of Kent and Gloucester are not entitled to use the style of 'Prince' or 'Princess' due to an Order in Council laid down by King George V in 1917. This stated that the style of 'HRH' and titles of 'Prince' and 'Princess' were restricted to the children of the Sovereign, children of the sons of the Sovereign and the eldest son of the eldest son of The Prince of Wales.

The Duke of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent, Princess Alexandra and Prince Michael of Kent therefore all hold the style 'HRH' due to the fact they are grandchildren of a Sovereign (King George V) through a male line. Their children, however, are one generation too far from descent from a Sovereign to hold such a style.

Q: Kerttu Maripuu - Tallinn, Estonia
How far ahead are The Queen's official State Visits planned and which countries will she be visiting this year?

The Queen's official programme is normally announced six months in advance. Thus, The Queen's programme until August this year was announced in January 2003.

Prior to the public announcement, though, every visit requires a great deal of planning. The Queen receives many invitations from a variety of organisations, individuals, charities, schools and local areas.

Unfortunately, The Queen cannot accept every invitation and so decisions have to be made as to which events can actually be attended. After that, a programme has to be agreed between the organisers and Buckingham Palace. Once the programme has been confirmed, an announcement can be made to the press and public.

State visits are normally planned in close consultation with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as well as the host country and are announced when there is final confirmation of events and timings. This year, Buckingham Palace has announced that The Queen will visit Belgium from 18 to 19 March. Further details will be announced closer to the time. There may be another visit later in the year, but that would not be announced until the summer.

Q: Mrs. Wendy Volland - Watten
