13 June - A State visit to Portugal by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh starts.

27 June - The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh begin a three-day visit to the Channel Islands.

26 July - The Queen begins a visit to Canada, including attendance at the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton.

14 November - The Queen and Prince Philip receive President and Senhora Eanes of Portugal at Buckingham Palace for their State Visit.
