OUTLINE OF FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS
The coffin of HRH The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, was taken from Kensington Palace to The Queen's Chapel, St. James's Palace on Monday 11th Feburary, where it remained until Thursday 14th February to enable her family and friends to pay their respects privately.
Royal Mourning was observed from the Princess's death on Saturday 9th February until Her Royal Highness's funeral on 15th February. The Queen and other Members of the Royal family carried out official engagements during this time.
In the late afternoon of Thursday 14th February, The Princess's coffin was taken to St George's Chapel, Windsor, where it remained in the Chapel overnight.
The funeral of Her Royal Highness The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon took place on Friday 15th February at 3.00pm, in St George's Chapel, Windsor. The funeral was attended by The Princess's family and friends, and was a private occasion. The Service was led by the Dean of Windsor, The Right Reverend David Conner.
After the funeral service, the Princess was cremated at Slough Crematorium. The Princess's casket now rests in the George VI Chapel, St George's Chapel, Windsor, the final resting place of both her parents.
