The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will make a State Visit to Slovenia (21-22 October 2008) at the invitation of the President of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Tuerk, and to Slovakia (23-24 October 2008) at the invitation of the President of Slovakia, Mr Ivan Gasparovic.

Background
This will be the first visit by Her Majesty to both Slovenia and Slovakia.  The Prince of Wales visited Slovenia in 1998 and Slovakia in 2000.  The Duke of York visited Slovakia in 2005 and Slovenia in September 2007.
