The funeral of Princess Alice

The funeral of Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester took place on 5 November 2004 at St. George's Chapel, Windsor. The coffin was carried by soldiers from The King's Own Scottish Borderers, of which Princess Alice was Colonel-in-Chief

Mourning
Royal Mourning was observed on Saturday, 30 October and Friday, 5 November. The Queen and members of the Royal Family carried out official engagements between these dates.

Flags
Flags were half-masted on Saturday, 30 October and Friday, 5 November, the day of Princess Alice's funeral.

Funeral
The funeral of Princess Alice took place on Friday, 5 November at 11am in St George's Chapel, Windsor. The funeral was a private occasion, attended by The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, and the Princess's family and friends.

After the service, the Princess was buried in Frogmore Royal Burial Ground, near Windsor Castle, beside her husband and elder son.

A memorial service was held at the Church of St. Clement Danes, London on 2 February 2005, attended by family, friends and representatives of her many charities.
