Twopenny Blues

A block of mint-condition Twopenny Blue stamps, purchased by King George V in the 1920s. Twopenny Blues were released around the same time as the Penny Black, in May 1840, but far fewer were printed and they are much scarcer than Penny Blacks today. The Royal Philatelic Collection contains some of the largest surviving blocks and multiples of the Penny Black and Twopenny Blue stamps
