The role of the Press Office is to provide information about Royal news and events to members of the print, broadcast, publishing and digital media. Its roles include arranging media facilities for Royal engagements in London, the regions and overseas; handling requests for media access to members of the Royal Family or Royal locations; organising media coverage of Royal ceremonies; providing information to journalists about current Royal news; and managing the Royal web-sites. The interest around the world in the UK Royal Family means that Press Secretaries and Press Officers deal with members of national and international media organisations.
The Press Office at Buckingham Palace deals with media matters relating to members of the Royal Family, with the exception of The Prince of Wales.
The Press Office at Clarence House handles media enquiries relating to The Prince of Wales and his family.
The Royal Collection Department has its own Press Office to provide media information relating to the Royal Collection and its exhibitions and developments, and the Royal Residences, including Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse and Frogmore.
