This section contains background information about the arrangements for the funeral of HRH Princess Margaret.

St. George's Chapel, Windsor and the Queen's Chapel in St. James's Palace both have long historic associations with Royal marriages, christenings and funerals.

The coffin of Princess Margaret remained in The Queen's Chapel until Thursday 14th February.  In the late afternoon of Thursday 14th February, The Princess's coffin was taken to St George's Chapel, Windsor, where the funeral took place at 3pm on the following day.
