The London Fire Precautions team are responsible for monitoring and testing the fire detection and alarm systems across a number of central London sites. The team are also responsible for maintaining fire-fighting equipment, completing hot works risk assessments, first aid fire fighting and other safety duties. They also form part of the Household's Operational Support Team which provides assistance to the local authority fire service should an incident occur.
Ideally, you will be familiar with the operation of automatic fire detection and alarm systems, be competent in the use of breathing apparatus and the maintenance of portable fire-fighting equipment, however, full training will be provided. You must however have a current UK driving licence, be physically fit and able to work in confined spaces, at height and wear breathing apparatus. The position is offered on a shift basis working 42 hours per week.
