The Windsor Castle Fire Precautions team are responsible for monitoring and testing the Castle's fire detection and alarm systems, maintaining fire-fighting equipment, completing hot works risk assessments, first aid fire fighting and other safety duties including medical First-Aid response and Fire Safety Audits. They also form part of the Household's Operational Support Team which provides assistance to the local authority fire service should an incident occur and will provide out of-hours cover for the Household switchboard.
You will ideally be familiar with the operation of automatic fire detection and alarm systems, be competent in the use of breathing apparatus, the maintenance of portable fire-fighting equipment and understand the principles of modern Fire Safety Legislation, however, full training will be provided. You should have a current UK driving licence, be physically fit and able to work in confined spaces, at height and wear breathing apparatus. The position is offered on a shift basis working 42 hours per week.
