![]() ![]() Princess Anne as a baby, with her mother, then Princess Elizabeth, in 1950 EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION She was baptised Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise at Buckingham Palace on 21 October 1950. Shortly after The Queen's accession in 1952, the family moved to Buckingham Palace. Princess Anne was taught at home in a small class by Catherine Peebles, who had been engaged as Prince Charles's governess. In 1962 Her Royal Highness made a private educational visit to France, and the following year she joined Benenden School, a boarding school in Kent. She was the first daughter of a Sovereign to attend a boarding school. She took part in many school activities, including riding, badminton and rock-climbing. |
