PUBLIC ROLE

The Countess of Wessex works in support of her husband and in the interests of the many organisations with which she is associated.

In 2006 she carried out some 235 engagements in the UK and overseas.

The Countess is also associated with a number of her own patronages. These include organisations dealing with sensory, learning and communications disabilities, children's charities, and local community projects.

Her Royal Highness also has four military appointments.
