After Queen Victoria's first visit to Italy in 1879 (when she stayed on Lake Maggiore), in 1888, 1893 and 1894 she visited Florence. This photograph shows the Queen's carriage leaving the forecourt of the old railway station in Florence, at the start of her last visit, in 1894. The Queen is seated beneath an umbrella in the center. The photograph is one of a number taken by Fratelli Alinari to commemorate the Queen's visit
