The tenth anniversary of the first modern Olympic Games, held in Athens in 1896, was marked by an extra 'interim' Games, also held in Athens. The 1906 Games were attended by several members of the British Royal Family, including King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, whose brother was King George I of the Hellenes. These photographs of Athens, including the Olympic stadium, are from the photograph album of the King Edward's daughter-in-law, the Princess of Wales (later Queen Mary)
