CEREMONIAL DETAIL FOR THE JUBILEE PROCESSION TO ST. PAUL'S CATHEDRAL

The processional route from Buckingham Palace to St Paul's Cathedral on Tuesday 4 June is:-

  • Queen's Gardens (North Side)
  • The Mall
  • Admiralty Arch (Centre Arch)
  • Trafalgar Square (South Side)
  • Charing Cross
  • Strand (South Side)
  • St. Mary-le-Strand (South Side)
  • St Clement Danes (South Side)
  • Temple Bar (North and South)
  • Fleet Street (South)
  • Ludgate Circus
  • Ludgate Hill
  • St. Paul's Churchyard

The Processional Route is lined by the Armed Forces.

Household Cavalry Escorts in position in Constitution Hill.

10.25am Members of the Royal Family not in the carriage procession leave Buckingham Palace by coach.

10.42am The Queen's Procession, accompanied by a Sovereign's Escort of the Household Cavalry, leaves Buckingham Palace. A Royal Salute (41 rounds) is fired by The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery. The Buckingham Palace Detachment and the Guard of Honour give a Royal Salute. The National Anthem will be played followed by "Progress for The Queen" played by orchestras located on both stages.

The Guard of Honour gives a Royal Salute and the National Anthem is played as the State Coach approaches St. Paul's Cathedral. The Queen's Procession arrives at the Great West Door. The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are received at the bottom of the steps by the Lord Mayor.

11.30am - 12.25pm A fanfare is sounded by the State Trumpeters of the Household Cavalry as The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, with The Prince of Wales and The Princess Royal, preceded by the Kings of Arms, Heralds and Pursuivants and by the Lord Mayor, enter the Great West Door.

Inside the Great West Door, The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales and The Princess Royal are received by the Dean and Chapter, the Bishop of London and the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The Queen's Procession is conducted to their seats.

The Service is conducted by the Dean of St Paul's The Very Reverend Doctor John Moses.

12.30pm At the Great West Door the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Bishop of London and the Dean and Chapter take leave of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

The Lord Mayor conducts The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, followed by those in attendance, down the steps to leave for Guildhall.

12.35pm Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh leave in the new State Bentley
