HRH The Duke of Kent

The Duke of Kent begins most working days in his office at St. James’s Palace.

After studying the national newspapers, The Duke reads correspondence received from the public and arranges for replies to be sent.

He then holds meetings with his staff to discuss issues relating to his programme of future engagements and related administrative matters.

The Duke is out of the office on regional visits a couple of days a week and so takes the opportunity when at his desk to prepare for engagements taking place the following day or week by reading briefs and revising speeches.

Later on in the morning The Duke holds official meetings with visitors from the various charities and organisations with which he is associated.

He may also receive Commanding Officers who are relinquishing or taking up positions in regiments with which he is involved.

The Duke of Kent frequently undertakes official lunch engagements linked to his patronages.

He may attend a military lunch at a regimental barracks or headquarters or otherwise attend a commemorative or benefactors’ lunch given by a charity.
