HRH The Duke of Kent

Several times a week The Duke of Kent’s working day continues into the evening.

The Duke undertakes a wide variety of evening engagements ranging from attendance at lectures and annual general meetings to awards ceremonies and trustees’ meetings.

The Duke frequently attends receptions and dinners in aid of charitable organisations with which he is associated. He also holds events on their behalf, usually at St. James’s Palace.

Evening engagements may also relate to the military patronages held by The Duke. He may attend a retreat or present operational medals to service personnel prior to a official dinner for recipients and their families.

On other occasions he may attend a concert or theatrical performance being held in aid of a organisation of which he is patron.

A number of times a year, The Duke of Kent carries out official and ceremonial duties in support of The Queen. When in London he might attend a reception being held by The Queen or, if abroad, he could address a parliament on her behalf.
