In the afternoon Prince Philip will undertake more audiences or engagements. He frequently attends working lunches held by organisations such as Trinity House, the Burma Star Association and the National Maritime Museum. Lunches are opportunities for the members and their patron to discuss current issues or simply to celebrate significant events.

If The Duke is accompanying The Queen on an official visit, he will join her for the majority of the day, supporting Her Majesty at official openings, marking anniversaries and ‘walkabouts’. Often Prince Philip will have a separate programme to The Queen, for example a different route through a building, so that he can see different aspects of the organisation.
