The Duchess of Gloucester, formerly Birgitte Eva van Deurs Henriksen, was born on 20 June 1946 in Odense, Denmark.

She married The Duke of Gloucester (then Prince Richard) in 1972.

As a working Member of the Royal Family, Her Royal Highness carries out many public engagements on behalf of her patronages and organisations and in support of The Queen.
