Prince Michael went to Sunningdale School in Berkshire, and then Eton College.

After leaving school, he went to the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst.

In 1966, Prince Michael became the first member of the Royal Family to learn Russian. He qualified as a Russian interpreter and uses the language extensively. He also speaks fluent French and has a working knowledge of German and Italian.
