This programme is for ‘Tableaux Vivants’ staged by members of the Royal Family and the Royal Household in January 1891 at Osborne. ‘Tableaux Vivants’ is French for ‘living pictures’ and it was a popular form of entertainment in Victorian times. The ‘living pictures’ were usually accompanied by music.
