The Queen's role in Antigua and Barbuda
The Queen and the Commonwealth

Her Majesty is represented in Antigua and Barbuda on a day-to-day basis by a Governor-General. He or she is appointed by The Queen on the advice of the ministers of Antigua and Barbuda and is completely independent of the British Government.

The present Governor-General is Her Excellency Dame Louise Lake-Tack GCMG.

The Queen maintains direct contact with the Governor-General, although she delegates executive power to the Governor-General in virtually every respect.
