The Queen and the Commonwealth

Tuvalu is a constitutional monarchy with The Queen as Head of State. Her Majesty is represented by a Governor-General who is appointed on the advice of the Prime Minister and is entirely independent of the British Government.

As a constitutional monarch, The Queen acts entirely on the advice of her Government ministers in Tuvalu. She is fully briefed by means of regular communications from the Governor-General and her ministers.

The present Governor-General is His Excellency the Reverend Filomeia Telito GCMG MBE.
