The Queen visited in 1966 where she attended a morning service at St George’s Cathedral, visited the Colonial Hospital and received an official welcome at Victoria Park.

In 1985 Her Majesty and The Duke of Edinburgh attended the Independence Anniversary Parade. His Royal Highness presented Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme Gold Awards during a ceremony at Government House.
