The Queen's role in St Lucia
The Queen and the Commonwealth

The Queen is a constitutional monarch, acting entirely on the advice of her Government ministers in St Lucia. She is fully briefed by means of regular communications from her ministers.

Her Majesty is represented in St Lucia on a day-to-day basis by a Governor-General. He or she is appointed by The Queen on the advice of the ministers of St Lucia and is completely independent of the British Government.

The present Governor-General is Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy GCMG.

The Queen maintains direct contact with the Governor-General, although she delegates executive power to the Governor-General in virtually every respect.
