The Queen and the Commonwealth

Grenada changed hands between Britain and France before becoming a crown colony in 1877.

The island became self-governing in 1967 before becoming an independent nation within the Commonwealth in 1974.

The Queen is the Head of State of Grenada whilst the island elects its own Prime Minister, who runs the Government.
