The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, is paying a Royal Visit to Canada from 28 June to 6 July to celebrate the centenary of the Canadian Navy and to mark Canada Day.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness will then continue to New York where The Queen will visit the United Nations and address the UN General Assembly on 6 July.

In Canada, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will visit Halifax, Ottawa, Winnipeg and Toronto.

Monday, 28 June – London/Halifax

Afternoon - Arrival at Garrison Grounds for Official Welcome and Nova Scotia ceremony. Royal salute; guard inspection; short speech by The Queen. Mi’kmaq event at Halifax Common. Re-dedication of Government House.

Tuesday, 29 June - Halifax

Morning - Arrive at Canadian Forces Base Halifax. Pre-lunch Reception.

Afternoon - Lunch hosted by the Government of Canada. Presentation of new coin by Prime Minister for Naval Centennial; International Fleet Review – Centenary of Canadian Navy.

Evening - Reception for “A Celebration of Novia Scotia”, Cunard Centre.

Wednesday, 30 June - Halifax-Ottawa

Morning - Halifax. Tree planting in garden of Government House.

Afternoon – Ottawa. Visit to Canadian Museum of Nature, tour of new water gallery. Visit to National Arts Centre, statue unveiling outside. Arrive Government House; tree planting in the garden; audience with the Prime Minister; unveiling of Diamond Jubilee window design; unveiling of Marquette of bust for Senate Foyer; Garden Party hosted by the Government of Canada and the Governor-General of Canada.

Thursday, 1 July – Ottawa - CANADA DAY

Afternoon - Official greeting at Parliament Hill; inspection of Guard; official Canada Day Noon Show.

Morning - Arrival at Winnipeg International Airport. Announcement of “QEII Aviation Scholarship”; presentation of gift; signing and placing of letter in time capsule.

Afternoon - Pre-luncheon reception and lunch at Government House hosted by Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba. Tour of gardens of Government House; statue unveiling; tree planting and short walkabout; stone unveiling and dedication of site for Canadian Museum of Human Rights; walkabout. First Canadian Concert for Human Rights; short speech by The Queen on stage.

Sunday, 4 July – Toronto

Morning - Morning worship at St James’s Cathedral; presentation of hand bells; Chapel Rededication (St George’s Chapel); hand bell demonstration by Mohawk group; short walkabout.

Afternoon - Woodbine Racetrack; 151st Running of The Queen’s Plate Stakes. viewing of seventh race; time in walking ring; running of The Queen’s Plate; presentation of trophies; book signing.

Monday, 5 July – Toronto

Morning – Visit to Research in Motion. Tour of the assembly facility.

Afternoon – Visit to Pinewood Studios; pre-lunch reception; lunch hosted by Province of Ontario; tour of 3D film production. Audience with Leader of the Opposition at Government House; Duke of Edinburgh Awards; pre-dinner reception; official dinner hosted by the Government of Canada; speech by The Queen.

Tuesday, 6 July – Toronto/New York

Morning - Arrive Queen’s Park; provincial Reception; presentation of medals for Good Citizenship. Official departure ceremony; inspection of guard.

Afternoon - Arrive at Lester B. Pearson International Airport. Unveiling of Canadian Border Services Agency’s new badge. Departure.

New York:

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh arrive at JFK Airport.

Arrival at United Nations Headquarters; photocall in front of flags; wreath laying ceremony in Visitors’ Lobby ; HM lays a wreath for UN staff killed while on duty; HM enters the General Assembly; welcoming remarks by the President of the General Assembly; remarks by the Secretary-General; Speech - The Queen’s Address to the General Assembly; meeting with the President of the General Assembly; meeting with the Secretary-General; informal meeting with the Security Council; reception with Permanent Representatives of Member States of the Commonwealth and United Nations senior officials; HM and HRH sign the visitors’ book; departure from UN.
